Add Polydev to your app.
One URL and one sign-in. Nothing to install and no keys in config files. It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Cline and any other MCP client.
10 free requests to try. After that, your own API keys or OpenRouter pay; the local client adds your ChatGPT plan.
One URL. One sign-in.
Your app keeps its own model. Polydev brings the rest.
- 01
Add the URL
Paste it into your app as a connector or MCP server.
- 02
Sign in
Your browser opens once. Approve, and you are back.
- 03
Name a model
"Have GPT check this migration." Each answer says what paid for it.
Steps for each app
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Polydev, paste the URL and choose Add.
- Choose Connect, sign in to Polydev and approve. It then works on web, desktop and mobile.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open the apps settings and add a custom MCP server (on some plans this sits under developer mode).
- Paste the URL, choose OAuth and create it.
- Sign in to Polydev and approve when ChatGPT asks.
Which ChatGPT plans can add custom MCP servers is up to OpenAI and changes over time.
Claude Code
Add the server, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Polydev to sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http polydev https://polydev.ai/mcpCodex
Add the server and sign in.
codex mcp add polydev --url https://polydev.ai/mcp
codex mcp login polydevCursor
Add to Cursor then choose Connect next to Polydev in Cursor's MCP settings. Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"polydev": {
"url": "https://polydev.ai/mcp"
}
}
}VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Add to VS Code or run:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"polydev","type":"http","url":"https://polydev.ai/mcp"}'Windsurf
Add this to ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"polydev": {
"serverUrl": "https://polydev.ai/mcp"
}
}
}Cline and other MCP clients
Add the URL as a Streamable HTTP server. The client signs in with OAuth on first use (dynamic client registration, PKCE).
The local client
The npm package polydev-ai (1.12.0, Node.js 20 or newer, Apache-2.0) runs Polydev on your machine. It adds image models, your ChatGPT plan, and the Claude Code or Codex you are already signed in to.
Add it
claude mcp add polydev -- npx -y polydev-ai@latest{
"mcpServers": {
"polydev": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"polydev-ai@latest"
]
}
}
}[mcp_servers.polydev]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "polydev-ai@latest"]
tool_timeout_sec = 300The first call opens your browser to sign in.
Use your ChatGPT plan
With ChatGPT Plus or Pro, GPT requests can count toward your plan instead of an API key. Ask your app to run connect_chatgpt_plan, or use the terminal. The sign-in tokens stay on your machine. This works in the local client for now; the hosted link is waiting on OpenAI's approval.
npx -y polydev-ai chatgpt login # Continue with ChatGPT
npx -y polydev-ai chatgpt status
npx -y polydev-ai chatgpt models
npx -y polydev-ai chatgpt logoutYour Claude Code and Codex
If claude or codex is installed and signed in on this machine, the local client can run it under your own login. It never runs the CLI of the app that called it, so Claude Code never calls itself. Gemini CLI is not used; add a Gemini API key instead.
Extra tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| generate_image | Makes an image with OpenAI or Google image models, such as GPT Image or Nano Banana. Your key, or one free request. |
| connect_chatgpt_plan | Continue with ChatGPT: GPT requests then use your ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan. |
| chatgpt_plan_status | Shows whether your ChatGPT plan is connected. |
| login | Signs in to Polydev in the browser and saves the token on this machine. |
| get_auth_status | Shows the connection, the local CLIs found and your models. |
What you approve
Sign-in uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The app you connect can ask models through Polydev, and its prompts go to the model providers you chose. Prompts are never used for training and never sold, and their text is deleted after 30 days.
